Clamping of work pieces while machining, particularly, Milling is often done with vice. The more vice is tightened the higher the clamping force will be. But generally the tendency for the operator is to hammer the lever of the vice to achieve higher clamping forces which may damage the vice and machine.
The Hydraulic actuation of the vice is ideal for clamping work pieces with higher and controlled clamping force. Considerable force magnification is achieved there by reducing operator fatigue and eliminating the necessity of hammering the crank.
